Speed check

CNET gives you a quick and easy way to check your broadband speed. Mine was very close to the 6Mbps (megabits per second) advertised by Comcast.

I wonder if the extra speed is worth the $45 per month…1.5 to 3Mbps DSL costs $25 per month, although the real speed will depend on the distance from my house to the DSL central office. This site claims it’s 15,000 feet, and I’ve read that 18,000 feet is the suggested max to avoid signal loss, so that doesn’t sound too good.
