Last night we went to Torafuku, my favorite Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles.
As usual, the food was very fresh, well prepared, and nicely presented — we had a lot of fun sampling different dishes.
Something new we tried was “Jako Toh-Ban Yaki.” It was really good — maybe my favorite dish of all — because it had some “koge” (焦げ), or burned, crispy rice.
Sake was great too, and we agreed the Koshi no Kambai from Niigata was the best.
By the way, Torafuku has five locations in Japan.
