The healthy and not-so-healthy

Last Friday after work we were in the mood for Vietnamese food, and ended up at Gingergrass in Silver Lake. So that was our healthy meal, including this Pho noodle soup:

Gingergrass was good, but not as good as Pho Cafe, in our opinion.

And then on Saturday, somebody was in the mood for french fries, so I Google’d “Los Angeles best french fries” and found a new place that we had to try, based only on its name:

The Oinkster

Read this interesting review about one of The Oinkster’s specialties, Belgian-style french fries.

I had their pastrami sandwich, which according to their web site is “cured for two weeks, rubbed with a special spice blend and smoked with applewood.”
